The 2005 Merging EHR & EDC Conference was the first ever event on this visionary topic, proudly pioneering the landscape and successfully gathering the most influential leaders in this space to brainstorm on the potential value of co-joining healthcare informatics and clinical trial research systems. With 70% of the first year participants returning in 2006 and the conference almost doubling in size, the event once again successfully articulated the pontential value of integrating clinical research and clinical care.
Reflecting the topic's evolution, the 2007 conference title has expanded beyond EDC to include all eClinical technologies and their role in integrating drug development and healthcare information technology. The increased breadth of the subject not only allows for continued concentration on defining the value proposition, driving user adoption, data standardization and regulatory compliance, but also the introduction of recruitment and safety benefits as well as a focus on implementation at the site-level.
