| Description |
The BIS conference is by now a well-respected event joining international researchers to discuss the wide range of the development, implementation, application and improvement of business applications and systems. It is addressed to the scientific community, people involved in the development of business computer applications, consultants helping to properly implement computer technology and applications in the industry.
It is our pleasure to invite you to submit your work to BIS 2008
conference. It will take place in May 2008 in Innsbruck and will be
jointly organized by Poznan University of Economics and University of
Innsbruck.
The theme of the conference reflects recent developments
in providing services over the Web and efforts in utilizing social
phenomena of blogs, wikis, and folksonomies for advantages of the
enterprises and public administrations. The basic idea behind is to
bring services closer to users and to enable users to leverage the
services or even build communities around services. Web 2.0 and
Semantic Web allow for enterprise outreach and self-service. As it
still not clear what Web 2.0 will mean for enterprises it is a
perfect germ for investigations of research papers for BIS 2008.

BIS2007 proceedings were published as a volume in LNCS by Springer Verlag.
We intend to publish BIS2008 proceedings also by Springer either as a volume in Lecture Notes in Computer Science series or Lecture Notes on Information Science and IT new series.
Selected will be suggested for publication in "Enterprise Modelling and Information Systems Architectures - An International Journal".
