The Europe-Africa Business Summit (EABS)
EABS is the first event in Europe with a clear focus on private investment initiatives in Africa. It offers both European and African participants a huge platform for finding optimal business opportunities and making connections in all sectors. The EABS in Hamburg gives European participants the chance, within just a few days, to meet with decision-makers from nearly every nation of Africa who will be attending either to give an address, or as a country delegate or as exhibitor. The event promises to be especially attractive to European and German companies looking to do business in the quickly-growing economies of Africa. It will be an opportunity for both sides – African countries and mid-sized European companies – to develop a partnership on equal terms. This in turn offers the chance to develop a strong foundation for the further development of Africa’s national economies.
The motto of the summit is “The State and the Future of European-African Economic Relations.” Honorary chairman of this first EABS event is German President Prof. Dr. Horst Köhler along with his initiative “Partnership with Africa.” President Köhler knows Africa very well and is a strong supporter of the EABS.
