It is a pleasure to officially announce the 2008 Campaigning with Lee seminar. The June 15-21 gathering will mark the 30th year of the nations oldest summer Civil War program. We are particularly happy that the seminar is coming to Virginia Tech. Headquarters will be The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center, a brand new facility that exceeds in quality the Marriott Hotel which we enjoyed so much this past year.
In discussing Blacksburg as the 2008 site, we agreed to alter the format of the program. Bus tours will be eliminated primarily because of costs. Instead, we are going to highlight the Tech campus and add other attractions to the in-house program. An afternoon/evening picnic on the famous New River will afford all mountainous scenery, busy railroads, and good outdoor cooking.
