Now in its 22nd year, the annual GeoTec Conference and Exhibition will once again provide geospatial technology developers and users with the best available information, hardware and software, as well as services available on the market today. This premier event provides a vendor-neutral forum where attendees can network with decision-makers and sophisticated technology users and developers who are keen to offer you their valuable insights on latest trends in this ever-changing industry.
This year’s theme “People, Policies and Progress” will address the critical issues facing geospatial practitioners today. They include emergency and disaster management, data availability, critical infrastructure management, homeland security and the government’s role in defense, all of which are topics on everyone’s mind. The conference recognizes the important and unique positions that academia, government and industry occupy within the geospatial community; through a combination of presentations, workshops, and panel discussions, we will design a program that recognizes the achievements of those individuals employed in these sectors.
If you are interested in participating in this year’s conference, we encourage you to submit suggestions for papers, sessions, panel discussions and workshops. Submissions should focus on applications and implementation within the following areas:

Submission Guidelines
Papers that clearly promote a specific product, company or service will be rejected. It is, however, acceptable to mention the name of a particular company or product that was used in a specific case study or application where appropriate. Conference papers will be published and available for download online at GeoPlace.com. Note that authors will need to e-mail the full paper as an MS Word document to the Program Manager by June 16, 2008.
Papers should be research-based and should focus on applications and case studies that utilize a range of geospatial technologies. Ideally, they should address the issues that are timely and relevant in today’s society, as reflected by the conference topics listed above.
