| Description |
Globalisation, advances in information technology, economic reforms and social transformation raise serious questions about the theory and practice of accounting. As organizations face financial, social and environmental challenges, accounting professionals play an important part in such areas as balancing regulatory compliance with the need to improve business performance, interpreting financial data, using and designing technology and information systems or managing the information flow.
Knowledge is increasingly reported as the new competitive advantage of nowadays, with phenomena such as “knowledge management”, “knowledge transfer” or “knowledge sharing” preoccupying a growing number of researchers. In this genuine Information Age, communication allows entities to access, exchange and use information in a knowledgeable manner. The purpose of this Conference is then to encourage an international and interdisciplinary discussion on topics relating to knowledge, information and communication in accounting and management information system areas. Presentations from complementary subjects such as finance, management, or business economics are welcomed if significantly related to Conference's theme.
