Venue: Harris County Department of Education
Location: Houston, Texas, United States
Event Date/Time: Apr 11, 2008 | End Date/Time: Apr 12, 2008 |
Description
The goals of this two-day symposium are to increase awareness of the great potential of after-school programs for older youth, to advance our collective knowledge of this pioneering work, and to begin building a network of dedicated professionals who are working with high school beyond the school day.
This invitation-only event brings together new and experienced after-school program leaders and nationally recognized experts in youth development to focus on the role of the practitioner in creating successful out-of-school time programs.
Take this opportunity to exchange valuable strategies with two hundred professionals from around the country who face the same issues daily. CASE is working with Sam Piha of Temescal Associates, a nationally recognized leader of high school after-school, to convene the best speakers and session leaders for you. In addition, youth will present interactive sessions and share their perceptions and ideas for out-of-school time.
