It is now recognised that social communication and emotional processing problems are common following acquired brain injury. Development of clinical practice in this area is in its infancy. This 1-day workshop provides information on theory and assessment and present clinical examples of working with these types of problems.Audience: Clinical Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists and others working in rehabilitation of survivors of acquired brain injury.Learning Outcomes:
1. Have awareness of the key findings emerging from social neurosciences research relevant to acquired brain injury.
2. Understand the potential clinical implications of this research.
3. Have a framework for guiding clinical assessment and rehabilitation including knowledge of key assessment batteries and approaches.
4. Have practiced applying this framework to at least one case in order to be able to generalise this learning to their own clinical setting.
