THE 6TH ANNUAL UF MUSIC LAW CONFERENCE AND LIVE MUSIC SHOWCASE connects musicians, lawyers, students, academics, policy makers and entertainment professionals. The conference allows people from different sides of the entertainment industry to learn from each other and network. We will explore how the world of music branches into entertainment, media, digital and retail markets and also discuss new forms of music distribution, ethical issues, and protecting musicians' rights.

The theme of this year's conference is "Music & Mixed Media" which will center around the music business as it "remixes" everything from film, television and changing technologies; to music sharing, and merchandising.

The 2008 conference is scheduled for Feb. 15 and 16, 2008. The live music showcase will be on the evening of Feb. 15 (Friday) from 9pm to 1:30am at The Side Bar in downtown Gainesville. The conference and panel discussions, which will examine the music business, will be at the UF Levin College of Law on Feb 16 (Saturday) from 10am to 7:00pm.

Confirmed panelists include numerous top level entertainment lawyers, entertainment business executives, Recording Industry members and others.

The panel discussions portion of the conference will be held in the Chesterfield Smith Ceremonial Classroom at the UF Levin College of Law. To get to the Law School from West 13th Street: Go west approximately 2 miles on SR 26 (University Avenue). Turn left on SW Second Avenue. Continue to SW 25th Street. The College of Law is located at SW Second Avenue and 25th Street.

There is a registration fee required to attend the conference, but the panel discussions are free for all current UF students and faculty with valid university ID. Seating is limited, so register early! REGISTRATION FORMS CAN BE FOUND AT WWW.LAW.UFL.EDU/MUSICLAWCONF.
