We take great pleasure in inviting You to participate in a three day 2nd International Symposium "Contemporary Issues of Literary Criticism" about to be organized by the Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature (Tbilisi, Georgia) from 15-17 September, 2008.
Symposium is dedicated to the issues of contemporary literary studies, discussing the problems of Georgian and World literature, literary relations and influences in the context of historical and intercultural communications.

Panel topics may include the following:

• Medieval Studies
• Mythos, Ritual, Symbol
• The Boundaries of a Novel
• Contemporary Literary Processes
• Text and the Reader
• Interculturul Communications
• Comparative Studies and Typology of Culture

Proposals for panel topics with participants are also welcome.

Working languages of the Symposium are Georgian, English and Russian.

Call for papers:

Paper titles, abstracts of no more than 250 words for 15-minute presentations and short biographies should be sent electronically by April 15, 2008 to the Organizing Committee: maillit@litinstituti.ge

Approved participants will receive an informational communique.

Registration fee is 80 EURO. Accomodation and travel expenses are not included in registration fee.
