Let me encourage you to join us for this fifth Teaching
Professor Conference. Our program is set and as in
previous years, it contains sessions on a wide range of
topics offered by an intriguing array of presenters. Some presenters
we have invited back because their sessions have been so
well received at previous conferences. Others we have invited
because they have special areas of expertise. And still others
were selected after being carefully reviewed by the conference
advisory committee. It’s a great lineup and sure to offer many
opportunities for you to learn about aspects of teaching and
learning important to your success in the classroom. Even if
you’ve attended before, you’ll still find a host of new programs.
A great program is not the only reason I’m hoping that you
will join us. The Teaching Professor Conference is becoming
known for the wonderful spirit of caring and sharing that
occurs among participants. Some faculty tell us they learn as

they do in the sessions. By the end of the academic year most
of us need to catch our breath and find a place where we can
renew our commitment to teaching. At The Teaching Professor
Conference the talk, all the talk, is about teaching and learning.
Join us and share this energy and enthusiasm.
Outside vendors bring to the conference a wealth of
resources and material. It’s a great place to track down all those
materials that can inform and enhance your efforts in the
I look forward to meeting you at this upcoming conference.
I know you’ll be glad you joined us. And to those of you who’ve
attended previously, welcome back. It’s a great opportunity to
reconnect with previous attendees and to meet more new colleagues.
We still have much to learn from and with each other.
