An economically, socially developed and self-reliant society can be created through application of Appropriate Technology for Sustainable Development. The key to this will be the development of appropriate technology that integrates region-specific technology with new environment-conscious models and a socioeconomic system that accepts and use appropriate technology. The 7th All India Peoplesâ€™ Technology Congress is dedicated to this cause.
Through out the country scientists, engineers scientific workers and also artisans are continuously developing techniques and models aimed at improving quality of life of the stakeholders. Researches are going on at the national level institutes and laboratories. Field-level application of technologies developed in laboratories are also being taken-up by people of different cross-section. To assimilate all the efforts and with a aim to create a national-level database and model of technologies, which are appropriate for the ultimate users; All India Peoplesâ€™ Technology Congress is organised in every alternate year in the month of February at Kolkata.
