| Description |
The Marine PalaeoBiogeography Working Group (MPB) and the Instituto Português de Malacologia (IPM) are happy to announce the joint organization of the 2nd Atlantic Islands Neogene, International Congress (AINIC) and the 5th Congress of the European Malacological Societies (CEMS), to be held at Ponta Delgada, São Miguel Island (Azores, Portugal) on 2-6 September 2008. The previous edition of the AINIC Congress was held in the Azores, Portugal (2006) - 1st AINIC, 2006.
The 2nd AINIC - Atlantic Islands Neogene, International Congress will be held on 'Aula Magna', nearby the 'Complexo Científico' of the University of the Azores, at Ponta Delgada (São Miguel Island, Azores, Portugal).
The congress is open to all contributions in the field of palaeontology and may also host further symposia or session proposals.

Congress registration fees
before / after 15 June 2008:
- Full registration: 100 / 130 €
- Student: 60 / 90 € *
- Accompanying person: 50 / 75 € **
*proof of status required; ** no documentation;
Fees include registration in both 2nd AINIC and 5th CEMS, abstract book of both congresses (except accompany person), icebreaker, coffee breaks, drinks and the wine/beer/degustation poster reception. The Congress Excursion to 'Furnas' lake (thursday) and the Congress dinner (Friday) are not included.
The price of the Congress closing dinner will be of 55 € per participant.
