International Colloquium on Environmentally Preferred Advanced Power Generation (ICEPAG 2009 / Advanc)
Venue: Fairmont Newport Beach
|Event Date/Time: Feb 10, 2009||End Date/Time: Feb 12, 2009|
ICEPAG 2009 focuses on "Advanced Power Generation: 1 Megawatt to 1,000 Megawatts,†emphasizing (1) fuel cell/gas turbine hybrid technology, (2) Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) systems and component technology, (3) Integrated Gasification Fuel Cell (IGFC) systems and component technology, (4) large renewable deployment, (5) smart grid control and information technology, and (6) CO2 sequestration. Featured applications include central power generation as well as distributed generation.
The colloquium features a series of presentations on the technological, environmental, regulatory, and market aspects of distributed and central plant power including the production of transportation fuels. Areas of focus include (1) emerging international activity; (2) development of the international market for fuel cell/gas turbine hybrid technology, renewable technologies, and IGCC and IGFC technologies; and (3) the potential for cooperation and collaboration among participating countries.
An optional tutorial – the Fuel Cell/Gas Turbine Hybrid Short Course – will be held the afternoon of Monday, February 9, 2009, at the National Fuel Cell Research Center at the University of California, Irvine. The tutorial provides essential background on the fundamentals, design, deployment, history, and operating characteristics of hybrid fuel cell systems.
