Wargaming is most useful when applied to strategic issues such as acquisition, market entry, bidding processes and pricing strategies because it provides the critical dynamics needed to gain additional insights into market mechanics and shows whether the strategy tested is valid.
This workshop is designed to give you an introduction to the tools, techniques and processes needed to be successful in developing your own wargaming function. Not only will this training help you explore exciting new strategic pathways, but it will also give you the confidence to uncover the strengths and weaknesses in your current plans.
Daniel Baird is a senior member of the KappaWest professional staff, and has developed and led several Wargames in the Healthcare, medical device, pharmaceutical, defense, and consumer products sectors. His experience spanned the business arena from Medical Devices to Consumer products, having designed and developed successful Business Wargames in virtually every area of Kimberly-Clarkâ€™s enterprise, a FORTUNE 100 Medical Device and Consumer Products Company. .
Mr. Bairdâ€™s expertise in intelligence analysis and Wargaming comes from over 18 years of military service as an officer and commander in the U.S. Army Intelligence Corps and the U.S. Army Special Operations Command. As a veteran of multiple wars, from Bosnia to Afghanistan, Mr. Baird has extensive experience in strategic planning, operations, and training, in which Wargaming played a major role.
Mr. Baird has spent more than 15 years in the private sector, and his business background includes strategic planning, business development, marketing, and product innovation. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Political Science from Michigan State University, a Master of Science degree in Medical Science and a Master of Business Administration degree.
Mr. Baird has spent 15 years in the Medical field as a Certified Surgical Assistant, and currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of the National Surgical Assistant Association. He has also served as the Director of Legislative Affairs for the National Surgical Assistant Association. As an active member of the Coalition for Professional Certification, Dan also participates in the development and management of private sector certification programs.
