The goal of this hands on conference is to provide healthcare providers with practice development strategies that build revenue and innovative therapies that will increase successful patient outcomes. The first day of the conference will focus on corporate wellness and practice development. The corporate wellness module discussions will include peer anecdotal presentations about the successful gaining of access to corporations, current corporate wellness studies using innovative therapies, and a panel with partnering physicians and corporations looking at what made the partnership work. The practice development module will consist of colleagues talking about innovative therapies (e.g. laser therapy, advanced ultrasound for early detection of heart disease, etc.) and marketing initiatives. This first day will also include a presentation by keynote speaker Jaynie Smith, president of “Smart Advantage” a marketing/management consultancy whose
clients range from mid-sized companies to Fortune 500 companies. She consults nationally and
internationally on developing your competitive advantage. She has appeared on several programs including ABC World News and NPR and has shared the stage with such speakers as Stephen Covey, Marshall Goldsmith, Jack Canfield & Jim Kouzes. She will focus on how physicians can actualize their competitive advantage.

The second day of the conference will be the CME/CEU component which will be broken up into 4 modules; nutritional medicine, immunology, endocrinology, and diagnostic interpretation. Topics will include; functional medicine, subcutaneous and sublingual immunotherapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, adrenal fatigue and insulin resistance, andropause, estrogen, and iodine insufficiency, pellet hormone therapy, and a panel on diagnostic interpretation. The second day will include a presentation by keynote speaker James B. LaValle, R. Ph., C.C.N., M.S, founder of the LaValle Metabolic Institute, is an educator, clinician, and industry consultant in the field of integrative healthcare.
Dr. LaValle has written 14 books, including his most recent, “Cracking the Metabolic Code”. He has had over 150 articles published, and was also the principle author of two searchable databases on natural medicine and drug induced nutrient depletion. He is a nationally known personality with over 400 radio shows and T.V. spots to his credit. He has trained a multitude of healthcare professionals on integrating natural therapies into clinical practice and his consulting clients have included CVS pharmacies, Rite Aid, Cardinal Health, McKesson, Long's Drug Chains, and Professional Compounding Centers of America where he has been involved in all aspects of the industry from media and product development to quality control.

The 2008 Practice Development conference has been purposely coordinated to be a boutique conference with limited exhibitors and sponsorship opportunities. This was done to allow exhibitors, sponsors, and attendees the opportunity and time to have meaningful conversations for the development of strategic relationships. This is not possible with a multitude of exhibitors. This conference currently has a 90% return rate of exhibitors from last year.

Other conference highlights include a performance by the Washington D.C. political satire comedy troupe, “Capitol Steps” and the launching of the Immuno Laboratories “Advantage IgE” program that enables primary care physicians to diagnose and treat allergies in their office-with no referrals necessary.
