International scientific conference A MAN AND HIS DECISIONS (SCMD 2009)
Event Date/Time: Jul 31, 2008
Abstract Submission Date: Jan 30, 2009
Paper Submission Date: Mar 30, 2009 |
Description
Human decisions can be considered from different points of view. Man’s decision is his internal, personal act. A human being must be brought up and mature to be able to make the right decisions. The universal presence of decisions in human life can be best perceived at exceptional moments. The object of our choice is the good which we know and desire.
A decision is not yet an action, but it is not a mere thought or intention. It is the final act which precedes an action and at the same time crowns everything that is ahead of it. The explanation of human decision, the freedom of human action and the freedom of man in general, used to focus on two contradictory tendencies determinism and indeterminism – two a priori tendencies explaining human decisions and human freedom.
It is necessary to explain whether it is real human freedom or subconscious determinism – natural, mental or theological – in which God is responsible for all human actions, although man is convinced that his decisions are independent.
PURPOSE
The main purpose of the conference is to make the possibility to present an interdisciplinary reflection over the identification of civilizations’ determinants and institutional solutions and their importance in decisions-making of mankind activity.
ADDRESSEES
Due the interdisciplinary character of the conference, we would like to invite philosophers, psychologists, economists, educators, management specialists, priests of different denominations, theologians, mathematicians, historians and lawyers to take part in the conference.
