Experts and industry practitioners from both NR & SR industries will congregate Vientiane, Lao PDR from this 18-20 June for the 5th. It is an event which is devoted entirely to the rubber sector and acknowledged as the preferred regional gathering. It is the only event that brings government and industry together and for this year, is the fifth issue of the ARC which is held in rotation among countries in the rubber planting hub of the world.

The organizer is taking a strategic approach in expanding the scope of the rubber exhibition that runs alongside the conference. A floor space of 100 booths will be made available to cater for more exhibitors intending to seize the events advantage. The layout of ARC 2009 conference and exhibition area is created in such a way as to maximize networking and discussion, providing exhibitors with unrivalled opportunities to make strategic contacts and gets the business done.

For ARC 2009, it is expected that 60% of exhibitors will be from abroad and rest made up of locals companies. Exhibitors comprise exchanges, manufacturers of tire and non-tire products, test equipment suppliers, rubber publications, consultancy services for cultivation and research, and also other vendors targeting the upstream sector.

The exhibition is open to trade visitors from the Lao PDR and all international delegates attending the conference. It is expected to receive 2,000 trade visitors and 700 international delegates from the plantation and processing sector, and other end-users.

Exhibitors that participated in previous years have gained benefits by harnessing ARC’s unique platform to showcase their products and services. The strategic approach allows for an exceptional opportunity for leading organizations to leverage on the exhibition space for branding and targeted business growth.

ARC 2009 is expected to be on a bigger scale with an estimated 700 delegates from 25 countries converging to discuss commercial and economic issues, latest supply and demand trends, and price forecasts for 2009/2010. ARC is acknowledged as the only conference that caters to price outlook discussion for natural rubber.

The speakers this year will provide updates and insights on current issues and future challenges in the natural rubber industry. The theme for ARC 2009 is TECHNOLOGY, INNOVATION AND MARKET DRIVEN STRATEGIES: KEYS TO THE GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE NR INDUSTRY.

A total of 18 papers will be delivered by renowned speakers representing government bodies, rubber associations and commercial organizations from 15 countries. The papers are theme-based according to the 5 sessions held that highlight a particular aspect of the rubber industry. The 5 sessions are:
