The 2008 Northeastern Regional Conference will be held at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, PA November 14-16. The conference will be held one week after the presidential election between Barack Obama and John Mccain. The theme is "The Fierce Urgency of Now: Black Scholars in a Rapidly Changing World." The conference will focus on the political, environmental, technological, social, and global changes that are taking places at a rapid pace. We will also focus on the agenda of the next President of the United States and what it means for all of society.

The regional conference will be very exciting and informative. It will allow scholars, graduate and undergraduate students to network and discuss pertinent issues that will effect our future and the global society. It will also provide a great platform for NBGSA's National Conference of "Engaged. Empowered. Expect It" which will be held in Houston, Texas March 11-15, 2009.
