| Description |
This one week intensive course is an introduction to the nurse’s role in global humanitarian relief. It is designed to give an overview of the skills needed to participate in providing health services to large populations in humanitarian emergencies.
Attend this intensive course in Nursing in Global and Humanitarian Relief to learn how to:
<li>Apply the principles of organization and administration of humanitarian relief services
<li>Anticipate the major causes of morbidity and mortality in an emergency
<li>Conduct a rapid needs assessment and determine initial steps for disaster response
<li>Discuss how to plan, implement, and evaluate priority health and nutrition interventions in an emergency
<li>Review ethical and legal principles of humanitarian relief
<li>Discuss the unique contributions of nursing in humanitarian emergencies </li>
