True performance-based government cannot be achieved unless agencies have a clear understanding of how their performance measures contribute to the organization’s ultimate goal. There must be a clear line between goals, plans and outcomes in order for an agency to optimally operate. Agencies must have the tools to properly evaluate their programs in a performance management context.

This event will give hands-on training in both performance auditing and program evaluation. Through lecture, case study and exercises, delegates will learn key information they can apply at their own organizations. At this training, delegates will learn how to:

- Create a comprehensive model for auditing performance information
- Improve data quality systems with best practice performance auditing standards
- Use evaluation methods to discover program strengths and weaknesses
- Determine program relevancy to the agency’s mission
