The primary themes of the conference are global warming and climate change, not only in engineering and science but also in all other disciplines (e.g. ecology, education, social sciences, economics, management, political sciences, and information technology). It covers a broad range of topics on energy and environment policies, energy resources, energy conversion technologies, energy management and conservation, energy security, renewables, green technologies, emission reduction and abatement, carbon tax, sustainable development, pollution control and measures, policy development, etc. Therefore, papers on related topics are solicited from all relevant disciplinary areas, ranging from current problems, projections, new concepts, modeling, experiments and measurements, to simulations. We are now opening a new page with GCGW-09 for which we expect greater success although there is global economic crisis. Due to unexpected local and global crises, we have decided to enhance the main themes of the conference with a special coverage on economic dimensions of global warming.
GCGW-09 will include plenary sessions, keynote lectures, and several specialized sessions on different topics related to global warming and potential solutions. Industry participation is very welcomed, and we hope that the conference will lead to effective and fruitful communication between the research, government and industrial communities. I hope that you will find the next conference, GCGW-09, both enjoyable and valuable, and also enjoy the architectural, historical, cultural and natural beauty of Istanbul, Turkey.
