Bio-Computing is the powerful analytical tools create huge amounts of data. It is treated as the Bioinformatics and also referred as Bio-Medical Processing. Bio-Computing research is characterized by the production of large and heterogeneous collections of biological data, including protein and genomic sequence data, expression profiles, and protein structure coordinates. Bio-Computing nowadays entails the creation and advancement of databases, algorithms, computational and statistical techniques, and theory to solve formal and practical problems arising from the management and analysis of biological data. Bio-Computing is that branch of Computer Science, which deals with the study of application of information technology to the field of molecular biology. The primary goal of Bio-Computing is to increase our understanding of biological processes. Its focus on developing and applying computationally intensive techniques like data mining, machine learning, etc., of real world objects and phenomena. Major research efforts in the field include sequence alignment, gene finding, genome assembly, protein structure alignment, protein structure prediction, prediction of gene expression and protein-protein interactions, and the modeling of evolution.

The National seminar on Bio-Computing (NSBC-2009) will provide an excellent opportunity to present your latest research in Bio Computing and its related techniques. It will provide invaluable opportunities for academia, scientists and industry professionals to interact with each other and share experiences. This seminar will take the perspective of the research and focus on the emerging trends in medical image processing, image processing, data mining, bioinformatics in security, cellular engineering, bio electronics, bio physics, bio nano technology and bio computing technologies.
