| Description |
Department of Machinery arranges the NordDesign 2008 conference at Tallinn University of Technology, Tallinn 20 - 22 August 2008.
This seventh biennial conference serves as a Nordic complement to the large European and American conferences within the field of Engineering Design and Product Development, but we also welcome participants from other countries.
The conference is organized in cooperation with the Design Society and comply to the Design Society’s rules and quality standards with respect to review process, publication etc.
The conference topic is design in a wide sense: Integrated Product Development, Engineering Design, Industrial Design and Conceptualisation.
Suggested topics for paper submission are:
· Product Development:
Integrated, multidisciplinary, product life oriented and distributed.
Multi-product development.
Industrial traits and problems.
Engineering design and industrial design.
Conceptualisation and innovative thinking.
· Research approaches and topics:
Human behaviour and cognition.
Cooperation and multidisciplinary design.
Staging and management of design. Communication in design.
· Design education and teaching:
Programmes and syllabuses.
New courses.
Integrated and multi-disciplinary.
Researchers, practitioners and students are invited to submit papers to the conference within the above-mentioned topics, in a broad and general sense.

The registration fee is EURO 350.- ( for post graduate students 250.-) This includes a copy of proceedings, lunches, refreshments and the conference dinner.
