The GCC National Housing Challenges Conference will discuss the housing shortage and the challenges it presents to GCC governments as they struggle to provide enough affordable homes for their citizens. The conference will examine the role of various players – government and private sector – in addressing housing demands, including finance and mortgage providers and the options they provide to national home buyers.
An extremely critical issue, the housing shortage affects not only individuals in the region, but businesses, municipalities, governments, and ultimately the entire economy as well. We welcome key players from the government and private sector firms and financial institutions to join us and participate in this conference, in order to learn more about the issues and challenges of national housing and determine a course of action that will achieve national goals.

Another aspect of the housing situation that will be discussed in the conference is finance and the options available to GCC nationals; housing financing is now going through a paradigm shift, with GCC retail banks taking on an increasingly important role. This development is something new in the GCC countries - where a government-owned housing fund has been a leading actor in housing finance, but is now being joined by a competitive banking system
