2nd CALL FOR PAPERS AND PARTICIPATION
8th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON
SPORTS: ECONOMIC, MANAGEMENT, MARKETING & SOCIAL ASPECTS
29-31 MAY 2008, ATHENS, GREECE
The Panhellenic Association of Sports Economists & Managers (PASEM) in collaboration with the Sports Research Unit of the Athens Institute of Education and Research and the Quarterly Greek Review of Oikonomia € Athlitismos, will organize its 8th International Conference, 29-31 May, 2008, Athens, Greece. The aim of the conference is to bring together scholars and students of ECONOMICS, MANAGEMENT, MARKETING, TOURISM, RECREATION, LEISURE, and other SERVICE INDUSTRIES to identify areas of common research issues as well as methodological and analytical differences. Papers (in English) from all areas of sport sciences, social sciences, economics and business will be considered. Submissions from other disciplines that emphasize the development and the applicability of economics, management and marketing to service industries are also welcome. Special sessions of the conference will be devoted to the Impacts of Olympic Games, Professional Sports, Sport-Scheduling, Sports Tourism, Sports Communication, Sports & Media, Sports & Society, Sports Violence, Sports & Education, Sports & Ethics, Sport Technology, Sports and Computer Applications, Sports & Information Technology, Sport Services and Sports History. Selected papers will be published in a Special Volume of the Conference Proceedings.
The registration fee is €250 (euro), covering access to all sessions, 2 lunches, coffee breaks and conference material. Special arrangements will be made with local hotels for a limited number of rooms at a special conference rate. In addition, a number of special events will be organized: A Greek night of entertainment, a special one-day cruise in the Greek islands and a half-day tour to Marathon.
