Description This conference brings together an internationally renowned faculty of speakers who have conducted cutting-edge research on a wide spectrum of psychiatric syndromes and treatments. This program is divided into four sessions that address key issues including the latest findings on the pharmacologic treatments of all the major mood, anxiety and psychotic disorders. Participation in this course will allow the participants to earn up to 15.25 continuing education credits.
This year’s conference will feature Dr. Stephen Stahl presenting a half day intensive tutorial, Neuroscience of Psychopharmacology: Preview of the Third Edition of Essential Psychopharmacology. This will be the first presentation of content from the latest edition of his blockbuster book, Essential Psychopharmacology. Dr. Stahl will also present a half day session, Psychopharmacology Jeopardy: Intensive, Interactive Psychopharmacology Review. This mini course will be a revisit of the lively presentation Dr. Stahl gave at last year’s Annual Meeting of the American Psychiatry Association and will feature questions covering the waterfront of contemporary clinical challenges with detailed answers and discussions of practical and innovating treatment solutions.
Dr. Lewis Judd will give the Christian Gillin Memorial Lecture on Longitudinal Course of Mood Disorders and Treatment Implications and Dr. David Braff will give the David Segal Memorial Lecture on the Genetics and Neurobiology of Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorders and their Impact on Treatment. Several additional UCSD faculty will provide cutting edge reviews and innovations of treatment of a variety of vexing mood, anxiety and psychotic disorders.
The program is intended for psychiatrists, primary care physicians, pharmacists, clinical psychologists, social workers, marriage and family counselors, nurses and other interested health professionals interested in psychopharmacology. Drs. Stahl and Zisook, the conference moderators, will encourage questions and discussions between the audience and faculty.
