The Ophelia Project is proud to announce its third national conference, “The Bullying Crisis: Exploring Dimensions of Relational Aggression.” The conference, featuring nationally recognized experts in the field of aggression, will be held on October 16-17, 2008 at Hotel Orrington in Evanston, Illinois, minutes from downtown Chicago.
Founded ten years ago, The Ophelia Project serves as a catalyst for positive change in schools and communities nationwide. We are committed to creating safe social climates in schools and communities to promote emotional well-being and academic success for our youth. To achieve that goal, The Ophelia Project provides programs and services that address relational, verbal and covert aggression, including cyberbullying.
The 2008 National Conference will bring together professionals who will share expertise, programming and research on all forms of non-physical aggression affecting children and youth today. The conference will take an in-depth look at the role of cognitive and social/emotional problem-solving skills that help youth recognize and address relational aggression.
Workshops will focus on research, programs and activities that promote acceptance, belonging, control and competence among children and youth.
This conference is a critical resource for anyone involved in the lives of children and youth including educators and administrators, community leaders, health care professionals, therapists, juvenile justice staff and parents.
