A conference for scholars of Tudor literature and religion.

Liverpool Hope University, 3 - 6 July, 2008.

REGISTRATION OPEN

The conference will be an international, interdisciplinary gathering of those interested in the history, religion and literature of the Tudor period. Although there is a focus on the lives, works and reputations of William Tyndale and Thomas More, there will be speakers on other topics related to persecution during the sixteenth-century in Britain and Ireland, including papers dealing with Erasmus, Anne Askew, Nicholas Ridley, John Fisher, Thomas Stapleton and Richard Hunne.

Tyndale versus More: The Theological Conflict.

Delegates from the UK, Ireland, various Continental universities, and the USA will address a range of topics on religious persecution under the Tudors. In addition to sessions on More and Tyndale there will be papers dealing with Erasmus, John Fisher, Thomas Stapleton, William Lamb, Celio Secundo Curione, Nicholas Ridley, Anne Askew, William Alabaster, William Hunne, and Barnaby Rich.
