Because business continuity requirements constantly change, organizations must continually examine their operations and service-level expectations. Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Information Security and Emergency Management professionals should challenge themselves to understand and reduce risk while increasing business resilience.
As we all know, data stored on our company or agency systems is viewed as a strategic asset. As the value of the data increases, the reliability and quality of storage solutions must be considered. There is no question that storage is the key technical component of all business continuity solutions. Another key component is workforce recovery. What are the mission-critical functions, which employees do those functions and how and where will the work get done if there is an event/disaster.
Many organizations—along with stakeholders and regulatory authorities—are focusing on operational risk assessment. One key area of focus is information systems and data protection.
