For 14 years now, the series of EWPM conferences have provided a unique opportunity to examine, through the European and now the World ferroelectrics-piezoelectrics community, how theoretical, experimental and technological aspects are evolving, covering both fundamental and applied research, as well as practical techniques and industrial applications.
As for the previous EWPM workshops, this meeting will take place in the warm, welcoming and dynamic city of Montpellier, hosted by its University of Sciences. The town, capital of Languedoc, is located in the south of France, near the Mediterranean sea. We are confident that you will not only enjoy your stay, but also learn new or updated approaches, and debate about the latest developments.
The scientific and organizing committees will be happy to welcome you in Montpellier and will do their best to ensure your satisfaction and guarantee a successful workshop.
Scope:
This European Workshop on Piezoelectric Materials will cover all topics related to fundamental scientific research and R&D projects on piezoelectric/ferroelectric materials, including single crystals, polycrystalline ceramics, thin films…
It is intended to provide an interdisciplinary forum to present and discuss recent research results on:
1. Piezoelectric materials (quartz-like systems, langasites, ZnO…) - Wednesday, July 16th 2008
2. Ferroelectric and relaxor materials (perovskite-type systems, LiNbO3…) - Thursday, July 17th 2008
3. Other ferro-pyro-piezoelectric materials (polymers, composites...) - Friday, July 18th 2008
Presentations on theoretical, experimental and technological aspects will cover both fundamental and applied research, as well as development, practical techniques and industrial applications (crystal growth, thin film technology, assessment of material quality and physical features, modelling…)
