Description The Treasures of Texas Gala is the Mental Health Association of Greater Houston’s
annual fundraiser and celebration. Each year at the Gala, we present our highest honor, the Ima Hogg Award, to an individual whose leadership and community service mirror Miss Hogg’s personal mission “to enrich, enlarge and enlighten the understanding of people everywhere.” This year, the prestigious Ima Hogg Award will be presented to Tom and Carolyn Hamilton. Tom and Carolyn founded NAMI Metropolitan Houston and the Children’s Mental Health Action Network, bringing a child and adolescent focus to NAMI.

The Gala will also feature Bruce D. Perry, M.D., Ph.D. as the keynote speaker. Dr. Perry lives in Houston and has been an active teacher, clinician and researcher in children’s mental health and the neurosciences. His work is frequently referenced in prominent documentaries, magazines, and newspapers, and he is a familiar guest on the Today Show, Good Morning America, the Oprah Winfrey Show, and the major cable and network news broadcasts. An international authority on issues relating to mental health, his insight and expertise is certain to inform and inspire.

This year's Honorary Chairs are the Honorable and Mrs. George H.W. Bush and the Honorable and Mrs. Bill White. The event Chairs will be Johnny and Betty Rutherford. Johnny Rutherford is a three-time winner of the Indianapolis 500.
