This international conference will explore our current understanding of English Legal texts and law before Magna Carta (1215). The programme offers paper on Liebermann’s work, both in Die Gesetze and elsewhere, Anglo-Saxon royal and anonymous codes, post-conquest treatises, manuscripts, the social impact of the law, and antiquarian interests.
