According to national and international data, allergic diseases represent an important problem to public health. Besides the high direct and indirect costs in health that they generate, these disorders affect the quality of life of sufferers and their families.
It is evident that every action towards an accurate identification of those people highly prone to these diseases, patients with early symptoms, as well as patients undergoing incorrect treatment, will lead to reduce the impact of allergic pathologies on patients and society.
The Argentinean Association of Allergy and Clinical Immunology aims to help this problem by offering permanent training to members and other related specialists during the most important scientific annual event in Spanish worldwide.
Our traditional Meeting has been renamed Annual Congress due to the international rank it has reached. In this 32 edition it will hold the INTERASMA Regional Chapter.
As usual, the scientific program will include sessions specially addressed to allergists/immunologists, as well as courses for pediatricians, primary care physicians, and physicians-in-training. We will also organize sessions together with regional scientific societies, with the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology, the Latin American Society of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology, and the World Allergy Organization.
As every year, the AAAeIC Scientific Committees and Sister Societies (???) collaborate with the scientific program.
We believe in promoting research in our region, therefore once more there will be poster sessions and oral abstract presentations. The best original research in allergy and asthma, and the best poster will be awarded.
As we want physicians from all over Latin America to embrace this Congress as theirs, we intend to organize a poster session in Portuguese, coordinated by renowned bilingual experts to create a space for researchers from Brazil to discuss the results of their work without linguistic barriers.
Buenos Aires is a cosmopolitan city with a wide offer of cultural activities, shopping centers, diverse gastronomy and international hotels. All this, together with a solid scientific proposal make August 2008 a date to include in your schedule.
You are all kindly invited...
