The global society is anxious about the new evidences of climate change. The main reason is pollution of the atmosphere by harmful industrial emissions, conversion and use of energy and energy resources. The European Union, along with many other countries, undertakes serious actions towards widening the scope of environmental protection measures. For the time, being the results achieved are unsatisfactory. The need for wider implementation of advanced technologies and the invention of new ones all along the power supply chain – from producer to consumer – is obvious.
In order to achieve sustainable development, it is necessary to concentrate the efforts towards more efficient conversion and use of energy and resources, extended use of the renewable energy sources, implementation of advanced emission-free combustion methods for the fossil fuels, usage of nuclear energy, and application of new energy sources.

THE ENERGY CROSSROADS OF THE BLACK SEA REGION AND SOUTH EASTERN EUROPE.
THE ADVANCED ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE
which will take place on 27th and 28th May, 2008 at the Inter Expo and Congress Center, Sofia, Bulgaria,
in parallel with the traditional exhibition “EXPO ENERGY” 27-30 May 2008.
The event will be held under the auspices and with the participation of H.E. Petar Dimitrov – Minister of Economy and Energy of the Republic of Bulgaria
The aim of the conference is to draw the attention of experts and society from the Black sea region and Southeast Europe to the development of new technologies by generating information on their implementation and significance for environmental protection. The conference will focus on their significance for the progress in the region’s economic development.
Representatives from the European commission will introduce the energy policy, the mechanisms for achievement of sustainable development and rescuing the climate of the planet.
