There are splashes of science, knowledge, skill, perception, communication, compassion, reasoning, and creativity that make the healthcare professional. Each individual masterpiece influences how one practices and the care provided to patients.The Art of Health, Life, and Well-Being, A Tuscan Exploration of Healthcare will examine the many brush strokes that enhance competency, improve patient outcomes, and build bridges between global health practices. We will examine how the study of art can improve patient observation and perception skills and how building aesthetics can influence patient outcomes. Learn through self-monitoring activities how behavior modification, diet, exercise, and stress reduction techniques improve overall health and wellness for patients. Connect with the past and look to the present to examine the influences of Italian healthcare on U.S. pharmacy practice. Meet with your peers at the University of Perugia Facolta di Farmacia to discuss the pharmacist’s role in the provision of public health services and with local pharmacists to determine ways to better serve patients both in the U.S. and abroad.
