THE 6th ORGANIZATIONAL ENGINEERING TRACK
For the past twenty-four years, the ACM Symposium on Applied Computing has been a primary gathering forum for computer scientists, computer and software engineers from around the world. The ACM SAC conference is sponsored by the ACM Special Interest Group on Applied Computing (SIGAPP). The 24th Annual SAC will be held in Honolulu, Hawaii, between 8 and 12 March 2009 and is hosted by University of Hawaii at Manoa and Chaminade University of Honolulu.

Organizational engineering aggregates multi-disciplinary concepts, methods and technology to model, develop and analyze various aspects of changing organizations. One of its major concerns is to understand the enterprise architecture and the relationships between business strategy, business processes and the business support systems in order to create and keep the alignment between these complementary domains.

The sixth edition of the Organizational Engineering (OE) track at ACM SAC will provide a space for theoretical and applied research studies on organizational engineering topics to be presented while giving an opportunity for researchers, academics and industry practitioners interested in organizational analysis and modeling, methodologies and tools to share and discuss problems, open issues and trends.
TOPICS

* Enterprise modeling, including modeling of business processes, goals, strategy, entities, business structure, information systems, skills and people.
* Methodologies and conceptual frameworks for analyzing, creating and maintaining the alignment between strategy, business processes, the business structure and the support systems.
* Enterprise ontologies.
* Enterprise architecture frameworks.
* Business process patterns and process reference modeling.
* “As-is” and “to-be” enterprise modeling, continuous update and evolution.
* Enterprise modeling notations and formal modeling.
* Intra and inter-organizational collaborations and contracts.
* Model analysis, verification and validation.
* Enterprise integration, business integration and enterprise application integration.
* Frameworks and tools for the deployment, execution, simulation, assessment and performance analysis of enterprise models.
* Service architectures, composition and supporting technologies.

PAPERS AND SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Accepted papers will be published in the yearly ACM SAC printed proceedings and in the ACM's Digital Library. All papers must represent original work and can only be submitted to a single ACM SAC track.

The ACM SAC is a refereed conference. Each paper will be blindly reviewed by at least three referees. Papers are evaluated according to their significance, originality, technical content, style and clarity. The acceptance rate was approximately 30% in the previous editions of this track.

Submissions must be made electronically in PDF format via the ACM SAC online track management system at http://sac.cs.iupui.edu/SAC2009/.

The author names and contacts must not appear in the body of the paper, and self-reference should be in the third person. This is to facilitate blind review.

Papers must be formatted using the ACM SIG format. Document templates (LaTex, MS Word, PDF) are available at http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html or http://www.acm.org/conferences/sac/sac2009/.

The camera-ready version of the paper cannot exceed 8 pages. Note that papers with more than 5 pages will be charged 80USD per extra page.

Quality papers that are not accepted in the full paper track sessions due to space limitations will be published in the printed proceedings and ACM's Digital Library as 2 page short papers and presented in the poster sessions.

Please do not hesitate contacting us anytime for paper content guidance, questions or problems via e-mail
to sac-oe@ceo.inesc.pt. Additional information is available at the OE page at http://ceo.inesc.pt/sac2009/ and at the ACM SAC 2009 conference page at http://www.acm.org/conferences/sac/sac2009/.
