| Description |
IQPC South Africa is proud to present its 3rd Annual conference on SPatially Enabled Government. Although a great number of departments have been implementing Spatial Data Methodologies into their current strategies, there is still a great deal that departments at local, provincial and national level can do to implement these systems more effectively and effeciently.
After intensive research with industry experts a number of problems were identified:
A lack of sufficient communication and collaboration between different departments
The duplication of geographic informtaion htat is available
A shortage of skills and knowledge on the topic of spatial data and methodoligies
There are certain obstacles such as funding , awareness and perception that inhibit the successful implementation of GIS in local government
