Overview
This three day course will introduce participants to the ASME Section VIII, Division 1 code for Unfired Pressure Vessels. It will provide an understanding of the background of the overall ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, it organization, and applicability. Basic design rules and formulas, materials, welding, fabrication, testing, certification and documentation will be discussed. Data sheets and drawings will be analyzed. Sample design problems will be addressed. To gain maximum value for the course, participants are strongly encouraged to bring a copy of the Section VIII, Div. 1 code to the course, (even if it is out of date) for use during the session.
