| Description |
The purpose of the Workshop is to strengthen the research and application of the Advanced Materials Science and the Nanotechnology in ASEAN countries with the contribution of the Asia Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics APCTP. At the Workshop there will be the invited talks on the actual topics and the reports of the participants on their original works.
The co-organizers of the Workshop (APCTP and ASEAN Sub-Committee on Materials Science and Technology) have the intention to organize a series of Workshops once in two years in different ASEAN countries starting from this Workshop.
There exists a network of Materials Science and Technology Laboratories in ASEAN countries. Their activities are coordinated by the ASEAN Sub-Committee of Materials Science and Technology. The proposed Workshop will contribute to the enhancement of this network.
The Workshop is also a continuation of the 1st IWONN, 2nd IWONN, 1st IWOFM-3rd IWONN organized in Hanoi 2002, Hanoi 2004 and Halong 2006.
It is estimated about 250 participants, in which 150 from local, 60 from regional and 40 from international institutions.
Topics of the Workshop:
Topics to be covered at the Workshop include but are not limited to the following:
1. Advanced Materials for Electronics and Photonics (code: MEP)
2. Nanostructured Materials and Devices (code: NMD)
3. Nanotechnology in Life Science and Environmental Technology (code: NLE)
Sessions of the Workshop:
- Plenary sessions
- Parallel sessions
- Posters sessions
- Round-table discussion on the cooperation in Materials Science and Nanotechnology of ASEAN countries with APCTP member countries/region and other countries.
