Dear colleagues!
We are glad to invite you to participate in the 3rd International Young Scientist’s Conference on Biology, which will take place from the 11th to the 14th of November 2008 at the Karazin National University of Kharkiv (KhNU). This is going to be an excellent opportunity to present the results of your research and extend your scientific acquaintances.
LANGUAGE
The official languages of the conference are English, Russian and Ukrainian.
PARTICIPATION AND SCENTIFIC PROGRAMME
BSc, MSc and PhD students as well as young scientists (up to 35 years old) are invited to apply for the opportunity to present either an oral report or a poster describing their own research. Presentations will be evaluated by qualified jury of scientific authorities and the outstanding works will be awarded. A book of abstracts will be printed and distributed among participants.
Scientific programme of the conference covers all fields of biology.
Presentations will be arranged in 9 sections concerning different aspects of life sciences:
1. Botany and Plant Ecology;
2. Zoology and Animal Ecology;
3. Mycology and Phytoimmunology;
4. Genetics and Selection;
5. Cell Biology; Biochemistry; Biophysics and Molecular Biology;
6. Human and Animal Physiology; Biomedicine;
7. Plant Physiology and Biochemistry
8. Microbiology and Virology;
9. Environment Protection and Nature Conservation
(Merging or splitting of the sections mentioned are possible depending on participants number)
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
To apply one is to e-mail
1) an abstract,
2) a registration form, and
3) a voucher for registration fee, scanned in grayscale
to the conference secretariat (bioconf_kharkov@ukr.net).
Deadline for submission is September 10, 2008.
The conference secretariat should necessarily send a notification of submission(a confirmation mail).
The Scientific Committee will review the abstracts and make an acceptance decision, which will be notified by the middle of October by e-mail. All participants, whose abstracts will be accepted, will be included in the conference programme and will receive the second call containing detailed information.
ABSTRACTS should be written in English, 400 words maximum.
REGISTRATION FEE
Conference fee is 20 Euro and covers an abstract book and all necessary conference materials as well as coffee breaks and basic entertainment activities. Participants, who would like to attend the friendly dinner organized by the conference secretariat at the beginning of the conference, should pay 11 Euro more (31 Euro altogether). Other meals, accommodation and journey to Ukraine are NOT included and should be covered at the participants’ own expense.
SOCIAL PROGRAMME
The organizing committee will provide the participants the opportunity to see the sights of Kharkiv, which was the capital of Soviet Ukraine in 1917-1934 and conserved numerous symbols of communistic times. Persons interested may attend the Nature Museum and the Botanical Garden of KhNU, old Orthodox Churches and the Zoo. Additional activities are possible on participants’ request.
