Description Join your colleagues in examining the conceptual, methodological, and analytical approaches that will translate nursing science into tangible health benefits for vulnerable populations.

Who Should Attend:
pre-docs preparing National Research Service Awards (NRSAs)
post-docs developing a program of research
faculty interested in new research approaches for vulnerable populations
clinical nurse scholars focused on issues in vulnerable populations

Penn State School of Nursing faculty, with their methodology collaborators, will present their research on vulnerable populations.

Up to 8.3 Pennsylvania State Nurses Association credits will be offered to participating, licensed nursing professionals.
Additional Information Penn State School of Nursing's Fall Research Institute is inspired by our faculty's research on unique vulnerable populations: the elderly with cognitive impairments; family caregivers providing end-of-life care; older men in prison; and young children. Each workshop session will include one or two nurse researchers and a methodologist who will combine an examination of the conceptual issues of research in vulnerable populations with an exploration of the methodological concerns. In addition, you will have the opportunity to hear three keynote presentations from national experts conducting research with vulnerable populations:
Dr. Margaret Grey, Dean and Annie Goodrich Professor, Yale School of Nursing
Dr. Linda Collins, Professor and Director, Penn State Methodology Center
Dr. Mark Greenberg, Professor and Director, Penn State Prevention Research Center for the Promotion of Human Development.
