According to its long tradition, the ‘Bürgenstock Conference 2009’ will be highly interdisciplinary, covering many areas of chemistry in its main body, but allowing also for relevant highlights from neighboring disciplines, with due focus on structural and mechanistic aspects in all contributions.
The program consists of 14 plenary lectures (60 minutes), each followed by a discussion session of 30 minutes. Thus, there will be ample time for each topic to be presented fully and examined from different angles and perspectives. Lectures and discussions are held in the mornings and the evenings. The afternoons are free for recreation, informal discussions, and poster sessions.
Participation at this research conference is on invitation by the President and the Organizing Committee.
Applications are screened with criteria similar to those of the Gordon Research Conferences:
Successful applicants have prominent research activities in one or more of the subject areas of the Conference.
Completion of a PhD degree is required.
The Organizing Committee will strive for a good balance of junior and senior participants from academic and industrial laboratories.
The number of participants at this Conference is strictly limited.
Early application is strongly encouraged.
