| Description |
On 4 April, Minister Gillard announced the establishment of a
national inquiry into our occupational health and safety laws in order to produce a model law which could be enacted by all of
the States and Territories. While much is similar in our crop of safety statutes, many differences are apparent. It is also the
case that the procedure for undertaking prosecutions differs amongst the several jurisdictions. In this presentation, Prof
McCallum will comment on the main legal challenges confronting the inquiry.
