| Description |
Educational aims & objectives:
The recent emotive House of Commons debate on the permissible upper gestational age-limit for the termination of pregnancy was a direct outcome of the advances made in neonatal care during the past twenty years. These advances stem from increased knowledge and understanding of the physiology and pathology of the new born, improvements in technical equipment and the application of new skills in the management and nursing care of both pre-term infants born only 24 or 25 weeks gestation has conditioned the general public to expect such outcomes for most prematurely born infants and often to regard any attendant disability as evidence of sub-optimal care. Against this background, the Royal Society of Medicine has assembled a team of experts who will address various aspects of current neonatal management and care.

Registrations will not be accepted over the telephone and acceptance is at the discretion of the event organiser. Places are only guaranteed upon written confirmation. Cancellations must be received in writing 14 working days prior to the meeting and all refunds will be refunded less a 15% processing charge. After this date we regret no refunds will be given. Substitutions may be made at any time without charge. Cheques must be in sterling drawn on a UK bank account. In the event that the RSM cancels the meeting, our liability will be limited to registrations fees already paid to the Society for the meeting.
