Description
Student populations continue to surge at many colleges and universities. The National Center for Education Statistics says the nation’s college enrollment will grow by at least 10% in the next decade, as an estimated 80 million people will turn 18, the age at which the college experience most often begins. Despite the best efforts by academic officials to add new housing facilities, supply is simply not meeting demand.
Sage commercial real estate developers and third party managers, recognizing the critical demand for student housing, continue to acquire and manage both off-campus, and in an emerging trendline, now on-campus housing facilities, paving the way for rapid growth in this niche market.
The inaugural RealShare STUDENT HOUSING, held in March 2008, enjoyed noteworthy industry praise – attracting more than 420 owners, investors, developers, financiers, architects and collegiate housing officials for important discussion, debate, and networking. Building on the success of the inaugural conference, Incisive Media’s Second Annual RealShare STUDENT HOUSING will offer a more comprehensive agenda and bring together even more of the industry’s key players for insightful and innovative panel discussions and networking.
Agenda Coverage will include:
*Town Hall Meeting: What is the Outlook for Student Housing Investment, Development [Including Green Development], Leasing and Financing in the Face of a Deepening Recession and Evolving Capital Markets Environment?
*Debt & Equity Capital Markets Update: Who is Filling the “Credit Void†for Student Housing and What is the Cost of Equity in Today’s Environment?
*Special Luncheon Discussion: Effectively Managing the Realities of Today’s Economic Climate for Student Housing: Has the Time Arrived to Change or Lower Expectations and How Will the Industry Survive?
*Investment Sales Update: Who is Buying, Who is Selling and Why? And, What is the Outlook for Distressed Sales in 2009?
