Description The workshop “FUTURE ENERGY: Research, Innovation and Technology” takes place from 2 to 3 of March, in Lisbon, Portugal.

FUTURE ENERGY: Research, Innovation and Technology aims to bring together policy makers, technology providers, stakeholders and researchers in order to discuss the best way to reach the European objectives of sustainability, competitiveness and security of supply in the energy scope, focusing on the low carbon energy technologies.

The new European policies provide an important role to climate change and energy issues, giving priority to the development and exploitation of new technologies and R&D. In this sense, the European Commission launched the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan) to accelerate the development and implementation low carbon technologies.

The workshop “FUTURE ENERGY: Research, Innovation and Technology” is organized by the Research Group on Energy and Sustainable Development (RGESD) – IDMEC, in the scope of the EMINENT Project.

The EMINENT (Early Market Introduction of New ENergy Technologies in liaison with science and industry) Project was launched by DGTREN, European Commission, in 2003. The project was completed in 2005 and, due to its success, a follow-up project, EMINENT 2, started in 2006. The main objective of EMINENT is to foster research results into the market. The project is targeting leading-edge European energy and environmental technologies and solutions.
