We would like to invite all counsellors to join us for the 10th annual counselling conference on 1st – 3rd September 2009 at the Safari Park Hotel - Nairobi, Kenya.
The conference will include topics such as: current practices, violence in schools, children’s experiences of IDP camps, art therapy, career guidance, dealing with the transitions affecting children and young people, trauma in childhood and play therapy. Participants are encouraged to make presentations on topics of personal interest and to take part in the conference debates.
The conference aims to bring people from various backgrounds and regions to meet and share knowledge, skills, ideas, research findings related to counselling children and young people. The conference will combine a mixture of workshops given by international experts, presentations and round table discussions, with the aim of increasing professional development for dealing with children and young people.
Attached, do find the conference flyer, the abstract form for those who wish to make a presentation and the registration form. The conference registration fee is Kshs 9,500 per person for East African participants and US$300 for international participants. This does not include accommodation costs.
