The conference is aimed at those who wish to update themselves with new trends, recent developments and exchange ideas in free radical research. Issues and topics will focus on the targeted areas of knowledge and expertise such as natural products, antioxidants and radioprotectors. The field of antioxidants and free radicals is often perceived as focusing around the use of natural products as antioxidant supplements to prevent human diseases. However, antioxidants/free radicals permeate the whole of life, creating the field of free radical biology. Free radicals are not all bad, nor antioxidants all good. Life is a balance between the two. Society for Free radical research-India satellite Meeting, 2009 at AMU, Aligarh aims to harness maximum research potential through debating on pressing issues and understanding this field of research as it unfolds.
