Description PCL and PCLF are hosting their 2009 Environmental Legislative Symposium
on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Sheraton Grand in downtown Sacramento.
This year's theme is Steps to a Sustainable California: Building
Momentum for Real Change. We all have an opportunity to contribute to the
environmental movement and help guide future decisions -- here is your
chance to help make California a sustainable state.

The preliminary conference agenda is posted online at
http://www.pcl.org/projects/2009symposium/agenda.html.

This year it is particularly important to us to make sure our steps (to
A sustainable California) are creative, achievable and the focus of our
legislative efforts. Our policy panels will concentrate on water
policy, land use, public health and climate change.

We are also offering “How To...” Workshops that empower individuals and
organizations to be more effective, with workshops including, but not
limited to: Telling Your Story Effectively, Protecting Natural Lands and
Motivating Volunteers to Stay Active in Your Campaigns.

Our MCLE panels will focus on extremely relevant topics that have been
at the forefront of our efforts and the attorneys we work with. These
sessions include: California Wildfire and CEQA, Water Privatization and a special
legal panel highlighting the conservation achievement at Tejon Ranch.

This year, after several requests, we have received approval to lists
several sessions as AICP continuing education credit for planners. Planners can
receive Certification Maintenance credit for policy and MCLE sessions
they attend!

PCL recognizes the many environmental issues and interests out there...
we are still accepting sponsorships (go to:
http://www.pcl.org/projects/2009symposium/sponsorship.html) and
registrations (go to https://org2.democracyinaction.org/o/5056/t/1760/event/checkOut.jsp?event_KEY=4144.

Please contact Melanie Schlotterbeck at 714-779-7561 or by email at
MSchlotterbeck@pcl.org if you are interested in sponsorship
opportunities or registering for the Symposium. We would appreciate your support and
participation in this statewide event.
